A perfect bracelet for layering, make this quick and easy diy wrap bracelet using leather cord and tube beads.
I became a bit of a bead addict and hoarder over the holidays when I was making DIY Chan Luu Wrap Bracelets for gifts. Every time I was at Michael’s or JoAnn’s I would end up with way more beads and supplies than I really needed because they were always having sales. I love wearing bracelets, especially layering them together for a little arm party, so I’m trying to use up my stash in preparation for spring weather and shorter sleeves! This DIY wrap bracelet with tube beads is super simple, inexpensive, and perfect for layering. I originally saw a similar bracelet tutorial on Honestly WTF. I decided to use a different closure because it was simpler, and I found some on clearance.
Supplies Needed:
- 24″ of 1mm-1.5mm leather cord (measure to your wrist size) This allowed for 4 wraps on my wrist, plus enough to tie the closures on.
- 4-Curved Tube Spacer beads (I did 1 for each wrap around, you can add more as preferred)
- 1-small bar and ring toggle clasp
Step 1: Thread your tube beads onto your leather cord. You don’t have to place them in any certain place at this time as you can adjust them later.
Step 2: Tie the bar part of the closure on one end of the leather cord using a double knot. Pull it tight and snip the extra leather cord fairly close to the knot. Give yourself a tiny length left for any future tightening.
Step 3: Wrap the leather cord around your wrist to measure where you should put the ring part of your closure. Give yourself a half inch or so extra. Then tie the ring part of the closure where you want the end of the bracelet to be. I suggest you do a single knot first and remeasure on your wrist before you double the knot and snip the ends.
Step 4: Put on your wrap bracelet and adjust the tube beads where you want them. I like mine all at the top side of my wrist but slightly off center from each other.
Done! Layer with your favorite bracelets.
I still have some tube beads left, so I’m thinking I’ll get some bright colored leather for some fun spring and summer colored bracelets.
Awesome!I’m pinning this to make later
This is cute & perfect! I love layering, simple & cute….win win win! Thanks for sharing. I pinned it so I don’t forget to make it
This is beautiful! Thanks for sharing this and the wrap bracelet! I made my first “wonky” one and am ready to make a wearable one! I am a slow study but your directions are great!
Thanks Leslie! I pretty much have a “practice” version for every project.
