I tried my hand at metal stamping again, this time to recreate the metal stamped leather wrap bracelet with inspirational phrases rather than birth dates. I just love how they turned out!
As I was making the ones with birth dates as gifts, I started thinking about making them with words or phrases. I had the opportunity to make one for my friend Lori as part of our secret pal gift exchange. As I was searching for three word inspirational phrases. I kept coming back to a blog post she had written about her dad titled “Circle of Life” and it just seemed like the perfect fit.
You can see a full tutorial on my previous post here. The whole process was so much quicker this time around since I had already figured out how to put the bracelet together. I was also more confident in how metal stamping works.
When I make gifts for others, I often have good intentions of making a version for myself too, but it doesn’t happen very often. I’m either time crunched, or more often, I’ve already moved on to the next thing – like DIY ADD. I really loved these wrap bracelets though, so I made one for myself at the same time that I made Lori’s. The inspiration phrase I settled on for myself was “Be the Change”. I’m not much of an inspirational quote kind of girl, but those three words speak to me. This was the first bracelet I made in the bronze metal which turned out a lot more vintage looking than the others I had previously made. I think I like the gold the best so far.
