My Friday Five – Top 5 Walt Disney World Memories

My Friday Five – Top 5 Walt Disney World Memories

If you follow regularly, you’ll know we just returned from our family vacation at Walt Disney World. This will be my last vacation post and then we’ll get back to regular craft and diy posts! This was our first time at Disney World and while exhausting (and very hot!), we had a great trip full of memories. Here are some of my favorites.

1 | Space Mountain – Todd and I both had ridden Space Mountain as kids and we loved it. I’m so happy Carter loves roller coasters, although he was a little freaked out by not by not being able to see when the twists and turns were coming.

We loved all of the roller coasters we rode. Carter loved Big Thunder Mountain Railroad. Todd liked Expedition Everest and I liked the Rock N Rollercoaster the best.

2 | Jedi Training Academy – This was the one thing I really wanted Carter to be able to do during the trip. I had heard great things about it and knew he would love it! Check out my tips on getting your child into the Jedi Training Academy, which does a  first come first served registration.

3 | Blizzard Beach – I’m not sure when we’ll learn that at Carter’s age, he’d pretty much be happy if our entire vacation consisted of the hotel pool and water parks. It certainly would save us some money! We spent the afternoon at Disney’s Blizzard Beach water park and had a blast in the kids area and going down the slides.

4 | Trip Around the World – Todd and I really enjoyed the World Showcase at Epcot. Here we are enjoying Germany.

We would have liked to have spent some more time there, but it had been a long day already and it’s not the most exciting area for kids. Plus, there was a big storm brewing. The skies opened up and poured about 5 minutes after we got back to our hotel.

5 | Character Sightings – Carter wasn’t all that into meeting the characters. This was both good and bad. Good because we weren’t forced to stand in long lines, bad because we had to force him to take a few pictures. Fortunately we got a few fun ones!

Disney-charactersThat’s a wrap on our first Disney World vacation. We returned home almost a week ago, and I think we’re still recovering! School starts here next week, so we’ll be spending the weekend resting up while also trying to enjoy the last little bit of summer. Have a good one!
