Shredding chicken in your KitchenAid mixer is so easy, less messy and a quick time saver… genius really!
In my short life of ownership so far of my KitchenAid mixer, I’ve proclaimed my love many times over. At work a few weeks ago, a few of us were discussing our shared love of this amazing kitchen staple. One of my co-workers asked if we had ever used our mixers to shred chicken… excuse me, what?! She said a friend of hers tipped her off to this amazing kitchen hack and she’s never looked back.
As I was making Baked Chicken Taquitos this weekend I told my husband what I was planning to try and he tried to call bullsh*t on me. A few minutes later we were both believers. Really, it’s that easy!
Cook your chicken breasts per usual. Let rest for a few minutes before shredding in order keep the juiciness of your chicken (no one likes dried out chicken!). I used 4 breasts here. I could have easily done a few more at the same time.
Turn your mixer on speed “2” for about 1 minute or until evenly shredded to your desired texture.
Boom… done.
This would be an easy way to pre-prep for other meals for other meals for the week or freeze for a later date.
