July Wrap Up

Seriously, how is it August already? I seem to say this every month, but July seems like it flew by so fast!

We had a good 4th of July. I made bleach pen t-shirts for the first time for my son and I to wear to the fireworks. My husband politely declined. 🙂

We made some ah-mazing grilled chicken nachos. I’ve been craving them again, so I think we’re going to make them this weekend.

It wouldn’t be a normal month if I didn’t have a DIY jewelry project in the mix. I’ve had a few compliments on my new Chain and Laced Suede Laced Bracelet.

Last weekend, I finished a project I’ve been pondering for a while – the Wine Cork Holder Shadow Box. Looking forward to some good wine to help fill it up!

One of goals for the month was to keep up with my fitness goals and consistently write my Does This Blog Make Me Look Fat? series. Happy to say I’ve been on the right path there so far. My husband and I did the Color Run early in July and then as a family we did another 5k to help support my friend’s daughter last weekend. I also did a review of my Fitbit which I use to track all my activity.

One of my other goals was to continue with my digital photo organization and archiving. I’m up to date on downloading all my photos for the year. I’ve filed and renamed through March now. Slowly but slowly.

Last but not least on my goal list, I thought I was going to get to some sewing projects last month. Fail! I haven’t even set up my sewing machine yet. I did get a new desk though from my husband’s grandmother to use as a sewing table, so hopefully I can get started in August. I need the sewing practice before the holiday season!

My son started t-ball this month. He’s loving it so far and it’s so darn cute to watch him and his teammates! If you remember his pouty face from soccer, this is a big step up!

Last weekend we got a break from the July heat and it was cool enough for a firepit on Saturday night. My husband and son then camped out in the backyard. My son is begging to do it again soon!

That’s a wrap on July. In August I’m looking forward to a long weekend family vacation, more baseball games, and hopefully fitting in a few projects in between. I know work will be busy, so I’m not setting my expectations too high this month aside from enjoying most out of the end of summer as possible!
