Another week, another Friday! This week really flew by for us, kicking off with Super Bowl and ending with Valentine’s Day fun.
1 | Super Bowl of Dips – see what I did there? Dip… in a bowl… for Super Bowl. Okay, moving on! We just stayed home and watched the Super Bowl on Sunday. Can I put in a request that they move it to Saturday instead? I made Crispy Baked Wings and the best dip I’ve ever had, no lie! This Cheesy Bacon Spinach Dip from Damn Delicious will make a repeat at our next party. I was happy to see the Broncos win the big game, but really for me it’s a good excuse to make fun food!
2 | Snacks with a Kick – After my overindulgence in Super Bowl food, I tried to counteract it a bit. I’ve been on a mission to create some healthy snacks, and this Spicy Garlic Edamame was a home run (or maybe I should say touchdown). I had to pick up another bag of edamame this week because I was craving it again.
3| Year of the Monkey – So the Chinese New Year kicked off this week and it’s the Year of the Monkey. We’ve always called Carter a monkey because he has always been such a climber – and a cheeky little monkey! I thought it was fitting that I ran across these pictures on my iPad this week that he obviously took of himself while showing off his skills. He cracks me up! At least he hasn’t learned how to post on social media.
4| Spring Fling – Can we talk about how it’s still snowing here (almost daily this week) and yet spring has arrived in all the stores? I’m still in the midst of hibernation while spring clothes and swimsuits are taunting me. I know a lot of people are getting ready for spring break, but it seems a little soon to have made the leap completely. I will admit that I bought a new pair of Tom’s wedges today from a sale on Zulily. If the sale is over by the time you read this, you can also get them on amazon.com (<< affiliate link).
5 | Valentine’s Day – We finally finished Carter’s Glow in the Dark Bouncy Ball Valentine’s last night, just in time for his class party today. I really wanted to get some Valentine’s Day baking in last weekend, but I ran out of time (and motivation).
Any big plans for Valentine’s weekend? I’m getting together with some girlfriends tonight to finish planning a girls trip for this summer. Can’t wait! I think Carter and I are going to go visit my Grandma after his soccer practice on Saturday. For Valentine’s Day we don’t have anything major planned. It’s never been a holiday we’ve really gone all out for. I think I’ll make a nice dinner, and we’ll just get some things done around the house. Todd was traveling this week, so I think we all need a little down time to relax and recharge.
Have a great weekend!
